KAT --- This is the 1.2 UT2003 Edition of the KAT authoring tool written by Simon Mack and James French of MathEngine PLC. It is built against Karma version 1.2.1. Documentation ------------- Documentation for KAT can be found online at www.mathengine.com/kat/ and will be updated as necessary. There are also some useful pointers in the files installed to your KAT/doc directory. Target platforms ---------------- The target runtime is Windows 2000. Windows XP tested OK. KAT seems to run on WinME, with a few minor issues. System requirements ------------------- Minimum spec is roughly PIII 600, 128MB, GeForce2, but it probably wouldn't be much fun on less than a 1Ghz/GeForce3, which you'll probably have if you're playing UT2003 :) Decent GL drivers will improve your experience. If possible, set your driver to disable v-sync for GL. If KAT is running too slowly, especially in simulation, try using the 'No Sync' button in the bottom-right of the window, and clicking in your active viewport. You may also find that operating KAT in the single-view rather than split-view mode preferable. Try reducing the sphere and sphyl resolutions in the Peformance rollup on the Utilities tab. In the same rollup, reduce the Desired FPS to just below the maximum FPS that you can achieve. This should make KAT more responsive. Note that you can 'save' these values by editing the defaults.kat file in the KAT/scripts directory, or adding the commands to the user.kat file in the same directory.
